This week, on All My Children Wear Fur Coats, Amadeus Benitez addressed chocolate toxicity in dogs and detailed how Chocolate Detox for Dogs can effectively reduce the harmful effects of chocolate ingestion.

Amadeus is the owner and CEO of Chocolate Detox for Dogs, a product that is administered to mitigate the absorption of toxic chemicals when a dog eats chocolate. Amadeus came up with the idea for the product after his golden retriever, Leo, devoured a bag of dark chocolate while he was at the movie theater. Recently, on All My Children Wear Fur Coats, Debra Mastic highlighted the limitations of conventional pet bowls and explained how the Fluff Trough promotes a more comfortable, health-conscious dining experience for pets.

Debra Mastic is the founder and CEO of Fluff Trough, a company that produces ergonomic feeders for dogs and cats. Debra invented the Fluff Trough to address the mealtime needs of her pug, Pork Chop. Like many pugs, Pork Chop’s facial shape made it difficult for him to eat comfortably from traditional dog bowls. When he was diagnosed with vestibular disease, Pork Chop’s problems worsened, inspiring Debra to 3-D print the first Fluff Trough prototype. After receiving positive feedback from other pet owners, Debra realized her product’s potential. She used the money she was saving to purchase a home to bring Fluff Trough to the market.

In this episode of All My Children Wear Fur Coats, we had the privilege of speaking to Angela Ardolino, founder of CBD Dog Health. CBD Dog Health offers high quality, all-natural, medical cannabis products designed specifically for pets.

In 2015, Angela was diagnosed with Rheumatoid Arthritis, and she was prescribed Humira. Humira is a medicine that’s prescribed simply for all auto-immune diseases.  Upon inspection, Angela realized that Humira is very commonly linked to Lymphoma. At this point, Angela knew she had to turn elsewhere for help.

Angela lives a very holistic life, so she immediately turned to nature to find the best possible option for her. Nature’s answer was the cannabis plant.

Soon after using cannabis medically, her joint pain washed away. That wasn’t the only change Angela felt. She realized that her stress and anxiety levels had gone down as well. She was also able to sleep better, and overall quality of life had improved.

Angela went down a rabbit hole trying to figure out if anyone else was having these experiences with cannabis. She stumbled upon Canna-Moms. Canna-Moms is a group of mothers around the county using cannabis medically to treat their kids. These moms are treating anything from cancer to seizures using cannabis. They’ve found that using cannabis has greatly improved quality of life for the kids and their parents.

How do you avoid buying pet products that contain toxic chemicals?  I asked myself this question recently and found our show’s guest, Leigh Matthews with LeafScore.  LeafScore is a website devoted to fighting climate change by helping consumers make greener purchasing decisions.  This has never been more important than now.

At LeafScore, they believe that quality follows sustainability.  As a result, generally the best and longest lasting products are almost always made with sustainable, natural, nontoxic and organic ingredients and materials.  When you purchase from companies that support the planet, you “vote with your dollars” by putting pressure on manufacturers to factor in the environment, not just their bottom line.    Read more
