Dr. Pol’s love for animals began on his family’s dairy farm in the Netherlands. At a young age, he knew he wanted to become a veterinarian. Dr. Pol attended Utrecht University and graduated in 1970. In 2011, Dr. Pol teamed up with Nat Geo WILD to showcase his experience as a veterinarian. The show followed Dr. Pol as he travelled throughout rural Michigan, tending to various animals for 14 hours a day.
